Client Feedback
From the People Who Brought Their Watches
Somchai Pattanapong
Bangkok, collector
"Brought in a 1960s Swiss automatic that had been sitting in a drawer for about twelve years — dried oils, sluggish rotor, losing three minutes a day. After the full overhaul it runs within five seconds. The written note that came back with it was more detailed than I expected."

Narisara Vongkusolkit
Bangkok, professional
"I was worried they might tell me the service was unnecessary and charge me anyway. They did the opposite — looked at the watch, said it needed only a basic clean, and quoted accordingly. It came back ticking well and the price was exactly as discussed."

Arthit Khunakorn
Chiang Mai, visiting collector
"I made the trip from Chiang Mai specifically to bring a pocket watch that had belonged to my grandfather. Anuwat explained every decision before making it, sent photos of the movement disassembled, and the restoration took six weeks. Worth the wait."
May 2025 · Case & Dial Restoration
Priya Lertchaiyanan
Bangkok, first-time visitor
"A colleague recommended Welaxin for my husband's dress watch. I knew nothing about mechanical movements and felt slightly out of my depth, but the conversation at the counter was clear and unhurried. They recommended the basic service and the watch has kept good time since."
April 2025 · Movement Service
Kasem Maneerat
Bangkok, regular client
"Three watches serviced here over the past four years. The turnaround is never instant — you wait two or three weeks — but the results have been consistent. My 1970s Seiko five-day automatic runs better now than any other service I have tried."
March 2025 · Movement Service
Thomas Warwick
Expat resident, Bangkok
"Searched quite a bit before finding Welaxin. The workshop is tucked away but easy enough to find on Charoen Krung. My concern about sending a watch to a workshop I had never visited before proved unnecessary — communication was good and the outcome matched what they described."

Case Study 01 · Vintage Overhaul
A 1965 Swiss Lever Movement, Last Serviced in the 1990s
Challenge
The watch was losing roughly eight minutes per day, the rotor spun with noticeable resistance, and the owner noticed the crown felt stiff on winding. The movement had not been opened in over twenty-five years. Oil had thickened to gum in several jewels.
Solution
Full disassembly and ultrasonic cleaning. The mainspring was replaced. Two worn pivots were dressed on the lathe. Period-appropriate crown and stem were sourced from our parts inventory. The movement was regulated across five positions over two days on the timing machine.
Outcome
Returned to the owner running within four seconds per day in the worn position, with a clean rotor and smooth crown action. Timeline: four weeks from intake to collection. The owner noted it was the first time the watch had felt reliable since childhood.
"I didn't expect it to run this well. I'd accepted it was just an old watch."
Case Study 02 · Case & Dial Restoration
An Inherited Dress Watch with Surface Damage and a Faded Dial
Challenge
The watch was received from a family estate. The case showed deep scratches on the bezel, the lumed markers had gone dark, and the dial had a faint tide-mark consistent with moisture ingress at some point in its history. Sentimental value was high.
Solution
Movement service completed first. Case was carefully brushed rather than polished — the owner's clear instruction was to preserve as much original character as possible. Markers were re-lumed. Dial was sent to our trusted specialist who stabilised the discolouration without altering the overall appearance.
Outcome
Returned seven weeks after intake — we shared photographs at disassembly, after case work, and on completion. The owner reported the dial looked as expected: no dramatic transformation, but stable and clean. The watch is now worn daily.
"The photos at each stage gave me something I didn't expect — peace of mind."
Case Study 03 · Movement Service
A Daily-Wear Automatic, No Problems Noticed, Routine Maintenance
Situation
The owner had worn the watch every day for six years and noticed no issues, but had read that mechanical movements should be serviced every five to seven years. The watch was a modern automatic from a reputable manufacturer.
Service Performed
Standard movement service: disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, lubrication, gasket check, and timing machine regulation. No parts replacement required. The movement was in better condition than many we receive — consistent daily wear actually helps keep oils circulating.
Outcome
Returned in seventeen days, running at +3 seconds per day. Service note confirmed all gaskets sound, crown and crystal in good condition. Owner said the watch felt no different to wear — which, on a well-maintained piece, is exactly what one expects.
"Reassuring to know the state of it in writing. I'll come back in five years."
